Trip to Cork:
On Monday the 27th of December the Senior Room visited Blackrock Observatory in Blackrock Castle Cork and University College Cork.
We took part in a workshop on comets as part of the Discover Primary Science Program. we learned all about them and even made our own models of them. We even saved the world in their computer lab!
We then went on an excellent tour of the University College Cork where we visited Boyle's observatory and looked at telescopes that are still used by the astrophysics students. The roof of the observatory can be rotated so that the telescope can view the night time sky.
We then took part in a mini Graduation on the grounds.
Here are some photos of our students receiving their certs.
It was a brilliant day!
