Recycling is very important to us here in Kilvemnon.
We always
Reduce
Reuse
and Recycle
In Kilvemnon we are doing our bit to help in the race against waste.
If you would like to help us why not drop in to the school:

  • Ringos
  • Old Clothes
  • Used Mobile Batteries
  • Used Mobile Phones
  • Used Ink Cartridges and Drink Cans

We will recycle them for you!!

In June 2008 we celebrated the 6th class Graduation and raised our first Green Flag.
Nickey Brennan, President of the GAA was on hand to help us raise the flag.
We had an evening for all of the students nad parents in the school. What fun we had!!

The waste we create doesn't just vanish once it leaves our front gate/office. The total amount of waste collected in Ireland is estimated to be over 2 million tonnes per year. In 2001 0.25 tonnes of commercial waste was collected per person in Ireland. The majority of this waste (76.2%) ended up in a landfill site - this method of waste disposal is very bad for the environment and our economy.
