Scoil Mhuire Kilvemnon

Willie McTiernan is an ICT Advisor with the NCTE, an agency of the Department of Education and Science.

He is attached to the Kilkenny Education Centre and has a wealth of experience supporting the use of ICT in schools throughout the Kilkenny, Carlow and North Tipperary region.

Willie McTiernan often visits Kilvemnon in his capacity as ICT Advisor.

In 2005 he came to deliver a workshop as part of Science Week 2005, entitled Film in the Classroom.
This was the children's first introduction to film and a short Science Documentary was made over the course of the day's workshop.
This interest in Film as kindled by Willie was shown in the children's subsequent prodution of Jakers (The Missing Jigsaw Piece) which went on to win the
Jakers National Storytelling Competition and a FÍS Award in 2005/06.
